If you have driven down Heard Street in the Historic District, you might have noticed the colorful car that reads “Win Me” parked ouside of what used to be the AIM Academy and is now home to the McKinney Education Foundation. It’s a cold day today so I decided to look into what the story was behind this car.
It is a Ford Fusion and is being raffled off to raise funds for the foundation which helps provides scholarships for McKinney High School graduates. You can get a raffle ticket for $100 down either at the McKinney Education Foundation (at 510 Heard) or at Bob Tomes Ford on Central Expressway between Virginia and Eldorado. You can also donate on-line by designating your gift as “Car Raffle Ticket” on the MEF donation page here. They are only selling 999 tickets so the odds of winning are decent and the Ford Fusion is a good car with some awesome optional extras (we’ve been doing a bit of car shopping ourselves lately). It gets good mileage, has a good reputation and the standard CD player is MP3 compatible. Frankly, the Fusion has been at the top of our list, based on our shopping. For more details on the raffle, see the McKinney Education Foundation’s site here.
The car raffle will be held at the MEF Scholarship Awards Ceremony on May 28, 2010. Good luck!
