Art Walk Hopped

This weekend was also the McKinney Art Walk.  Artists veritably littered the street.  It turns out that the frogs that could be found throughout the square over the past few months were in reality an invasion force securing the square for the occupation by the Queen Frog.  Perhaps it is a King Frog.  I may be thinking of bees.

I have a new camera that I am trying to learn how to use.  Actually, I’m running it in Auto mode.  Right now, I am just trying to learn the photographer.  What do I naturally do well and what do I naturally mess up.  Once I try to actually control the camera, I have a feeling that that will be an issue.

There were vendors around the square selling art glass, jewelry, et cetera.  McKinney’s Art House and Art Expressions had spots side-by-side in front of the vacant stores next to The Gallery.

There were a lot of people out and about.

So I wandered around the square taking pictures.

I stopped and talked to one fantastic photographic artist about my camera.  He asked me what kind of pictures I like to take.  I found that to be a difficult question to answer.

How do you tell someone that you tend to just wander around taking pictures of people you don’t  know and just ordinary everyday buildings all of the time?

I really can’t explain it to myself either.  I did this when I lived in McKinney before.  I just didn’t have a blog back then.  I think I may be neurotic.

Maybe I should look up the precise definition before I say that.

By the way, Lone Star Wine Cellars has replaced their awning.  Looks great!

That’s it from me for the weekend.

Until next time,

That awning scares me! But it should get them more attention.

I agree. I actually liked their old awning better but people didn’t know that they were there. Somehow they just blended in. Husband and I have wondered why there are soooo many pictures of Spoons and we think it might be because of their red awning so it will be interesting to see if this works for Lone Star. I was thinking this morning that, if we get many more red awnings downtown, we could start calling it the Red Square. 🙂
