Starting today, Patina Green Home & Market has added a new local offering. Urban Acres, a local organic market in North Oak Cliff has quite of variety of goods that they offer there, so I’m not sure exactly which products will be in the McKinney line-up. I had so many stops to make today, I forgot about this one and didn’t make it inside. This addition of Urban Acres expands the representation of Oak Cliff merchandise in Patina Green. They already carry Oak Cliff Roasters.
The new massage place by Vicki Berg and Kate Moore and is having an open house this coming Tuesday, November 16th from 5:30 to 8:00. There’ll be wine, food, door prizes, chair massages and demos of the Beautiful Image™ face lift. The address is 120 W. Virginia St. Suite 101 but might be a little tricky to find. It is behind the Rejuvenation Life Spa and across the street from Jim Wilson, the architect. I believe that that street is actually Wood Street.
I can not find anything on the Internet for Blissfully Beautiful, but I did find this article from McKinneyNews.net written by Kate Moore. For questions about the open house (or Blissfully Beautiful) direct questions to Kate at the number in the picture below.
I stumbled across this news, quite literally, searching for something else. Willow’s Nest is coming to the downtown square. From what I can gather, they are originally from Oregon but have most recently been in Burton, Texas. The few items they have pictures of on their blog are lovely. I might have mentioned in the past how I love birds. They have pictures of several beautiful aviaries and birdhouses. Their artistry is going to fit right in on the square.
I stopped by Facets to ask them about the sign up in the window by Lulu’s. I mentioned recently about how the building next door to LuLu’s was getting a new facade and that there was a sign up that someone was hiring but I didn’t know who. Well, here are the facts on that one: Facets is expanding into the first floor of that building. Facets will still be in the space next to Palace Barber Shop but will also now face the square in the new space as well. I didn’t think to ask but I am assuming that “experienced” means experienced in jewelry making. Facets make unique natural stone jewelry and sells strands in such a way that patrons can get creative too. Their prices are very reasonable so this makes a great gift idea.
I noticed on the Internet that Gather is now open to the public, serving lunches Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It smelled so good when I walked by today I just had to stick my head in.
I asked if it was okay to come in and they said that they encourage browsers. All of the decorations are for sale.
For the upcoming Dickens festival (November 26 – 28), they will be open Friday and Saturday from 11 to 8 and Sunday from 11 to 3. Reservations are recommended but not required. Every week in December, they will be open for dinner every Thursday night. You will need reservations for those dinners. December menus will start at $25 and its BYOB. They will also be offering prepared holiday dinners to-go and weekly cooler packs (all the food you need for your week: breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Their menus are seasonal and will change based on availability and the chef’s taste. Lunch is served between 11:30 and 2:00 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Afternoon socials will be available on the same days from 2:00 to 4:00. Check their web site for current information.
I got to chatting about how beautiful some of the restrooms on the square are (you really need context for that one, but just go with it) and they encouraged me to check out their’s. They really are beautiful. This is the ladies.
This is the men’s.
I also stopped in at Kiss and Makeup Boutique, next door to Stained Glass of McKinney. They have a great selection and good prices. No pictures this time, but we chatted about the upcoming Dickens and she said to be on the look out for a great magazine article that should arrive at resident’s homes on the Wednesday before. There will be great coupons and lots of information about Dickens and shops on the square. If you don’t get yours, check in at Kiss and Makeup, where they will have a stack.
In the interest of keeping a realistic post length here, look for a separate post of gift ideas coming soon (maybe tomorrow).
Until next time,
