There is so much at Giggle Brush, I am actually looking forward to the next baby shower at work. The place is full of plush bunnies and blankies and everything you could ever want to buy for the new baby. Why Giggle Brush instead of a huge baby box store? Besides all the other incentives to shop locally, like keeping our neighbors working and keeping our sales tax dollars in McKinney, they are also experts at embroidery and can customize your purchase with the baby’s name.
I just loved these pacifiers. If I currently had someone at work who was pregnant, I would have grabbed one just to have for the inevitable shower. “Pull to Sound Alarm”. LOL!
I actually went to the square this weekend to make it to The Sample Shop to get a garden flag. They have a great selection of garden accessories in the back.
These plaques are beautiful. In fact, I bought the smaller plaque in the middle, “Surround yourself with friendship”. The smaller plaques are only $11.95. In case you can’t read them in the picture below, the first says “Scatter seeds of kindness and find peace” and the one on the right says “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow”.
These larger plaques say “Joy is everywhere”, “Time began in God’s Garden” and “Welcome”.
I don’t have dogs but I love this garden stone. I know a golden retriever who this could be talking about. There was also another stone I like that says “Proud Americans Live Here”.
If you want something uniquely McKinney, that you can only get here, try Garrett Art Gallery. Besides beautiful local art work, they have some great McKinney t-shirts for sale for $10. The design is by Gail Delger and the t shirts are only available at the Garrett Art Gallery. If you like giving souvenir-type gifts to out-of-town friends and family, this is as local as you can get. Personally, I picked up one for myself.
A gift for our troops, “Operation Gratitude” is going on at Coffee N Cream until the end of the year. Send a personalized message to our troops written on the side of a bag of beans that will be sent to our troops, along with grinders, at the beginning of the year. You just tell them how many bags to send and give them your message and they’ll do the rest.
I hope to make a few posts during the season with gift ideas from the square. If you find a great deal on the square that you wouldn’t mind telling others about, give me a head’s up! If the shop owner allows photos, I’ll pop down and get a picture and let everyone know.
Don’t forget about Landon Winery’s 5 year anniversary this Wedneday evening. They also have a great Christmas and holiday offering with their customized labels plus lots of neat accessory ideas.
Until next time,
