It gets so dark so early now. I never get used to this. Thank God solstice is just around the corner.
Home & Garden Consignment appeared to be open late tonight. I saw some dedicated people moving a beautiful hutch out to be carried to its new “forever home”. This was just about 6:00.
The square is beautiful, all lit up for the holiday evenings. This picture was taken early, before all of the guests arrived. The personnel at Landon were still scurrying about getting seating ready. It was a bit chilly and people wanted to be as close to indoors as possible.
Conversation was wonderful. Old friends, and new, made this a wonderful evening and a welcome reprieve from the working day. My attention kept drifting away as the live entertainment played covers of songs by Neil Diamond, old Beatles (“Back in the USSR”), Jim Croce and even some Hank Williams and Buddy Holly. He must have looked these songs up. It’s not like they’ve been on the radio recently.
Anniversary Cake was served to all.
They had a good crowd. I got there shortly before 6 and all of the tables inside were spoken for. We enjoyed a table under their awning despite a decided chill in the air. It really wasn’t thinning out all that much when I left around 8:15.
Happy anniversary, Landon Winery! May you have many more years as fruitful as the first five!
Until next time,
