I’ve kept my eyes open for activities on the square for NYE, but I haven’t seen a lot advertised. Destination McKinney will post an official list on their Facebook page tomorrow. Be sure to check it out. I’m sure that there is a lot going on but just hasn’t been written down yet. So far, this is what I’ve heard about:
Gregory’s Bistro has an amazing 4-course menu planned. The main course is a duo of rack of lamb and pan-seared Chilean sea bass. They are probably already all booked out but it wouldn’t hurt to check if they still have any openings.
That’s all I’ve heard about, but then I haven’t been down on the square in a while. Even on a normal weekend, there is tons of live entertainment so I wouldn’t be concerned at all about just showing up and doing a pub crawl. There is a hotel right on the square, after all.
Looking forward to the new year:
For January, these particular items look interesting:
- January’s Second Saturday will be on the 8th.
- Sweet Art Bakery will be offering classes in cake and cupcake decorating, and making gumpaste flowers.
- MPAC will be having a big bridal show on January 22nd from 10 am to 5 pm. (Brides that register online early can get free admission). This looks like it will be big.
Chestnut Square is looking for folks who would like to participate in the committees for next year’s Killis Melton Ice Cream Crank Off, Living History planning and Holiday Tours of Homes.
So, that’s it for right now. Don’t forget to check out Destination McKinney on Facebook tomorrow.
Until next time,
