Coming Up: Fashion Shows and Krewe of Barkus Parade

So these are the events coming up that I’m really interested in. I probably won’t be able to make it to all of them but my plan is to try.

Redazzle Fashion Benefit for Hope’s Door

Thursday, February 24th, 6:00 pm @ The Cotton Mill.  This benefit for Hope’s Door will have a fashion show, a silent auction and an accessory exchange. I meant to make it last year but didn’t get there. I am hoping to make it tomorrow.  I’m putting pretty much all of my jewelry in my purse in case I can make it to the exchange.  I can’t find many specifics on the web (are hair accessories exchangeable?) but the doors open at 6:00, the style show starts at 7:30 and Redazzle begins at 8:45.  Not sure if Redazzle is the exchange, but I’ll know tomorrow (hopefully)!  http://www.trendsettersint.org/redazzle.html

Robin Hood, The Musical

Thursday thru Saturday, 24th – 26th @ McKinney Performing Arts Center. This sounds really fun and I’m giving the Saturday show a lot of thought.  http://www.womproductions.com/productions/touringseries

Stonebridge Ladies Association Fashion Show benefiting My Friend’s House

Monday, February 28th, 6:00 pm @ The Heard Craid Hall.  This benefit for My Friend’s House will feature a fashion show, cash bar, silent auction and dinnner catered by Patina Green Home & Market. Fashions are available from local merchants on the downtown square. The cash bar and silent auction begin at 6:00. Dinner is at 7:00. http://www.srla.net/

Yesterday & Today Fashion Show and Tea Luncheon

Saturday, March 5th, 11:00 am til 2:00 pm, in McKinney Performing Arts Center.  Made to this one last year when it was at Cafe Malaga and they ran out of room for people to come in.  The fashion show will feature a mix of vintage and modern fashions.  The modern fashions are compliments of Macy’s at Fairview Villages. http://www.chestnutsquare.org/

Krewe of Barkus Dog Parade

Sunday, March 6th, 2:00 pm on the downtown square.  This fun event is limited to 200 dogs and is a great parade featuring small, medium and large dogs in costume and in floats.  Very well organized it was tons of fun last year when the weather was awful.  I’m really looking forward to the good weather.  And don’t forget that the downtown square’s merchants are very dog friendly.  Preregistration and confirmation are required to walk in the parade.  This year’s theme is the Wild, Wild West. http://www.artinstituteofmckinney.com/Artistic%20Krewe%20of%20Barkus.htm

Until next time,

Happy Shopping!

    Hello,
I am interested in attending the Mckinney Fasion Show and Tea Luncheon. Above it says it will be held on March 5th, but the web site says Saturday, February 25th. Also, when you go to puchase a ticket it says the 25th of Feb. Which date is correct??
    Thank you,
    MaryJ

The correct date is February 25th. This is an old post. You’ll LOVE the fashion show. Be prepared to have the urge to go shop afterwards!

        Hey Beth,
I hope all is well with you. Some of us girls was wondering when the benefit is at the Cotton Mill. Is it coming up or have we missed it?
        Thanks,

I’ll have to see what I can find out about for the Cotton Mill. The annual vintage fashion show that benefits Chestnut Square is this weekend and will be at the country club … El Dorado, I think? I’m planning to go to that but haven’t even got my tickets yet. The big buzz so far has been for The Vagina Monologues coming to MPAC the end of March. I’ll see what I can find out about stuff coming up and get a post up this weekend.
