Quick news post from the square …
Another Time & Place is packing it in and is having a 60% off sale on their entire inventory. As of this afternoon, they still have an excellent selection and this is a great opportunity if you’ve been hankering for a pair of smart-looking embroidered boots. They will still have their Plano location at The Shops at Legacy, which will be expanding. The clerk didn’t know how long the McKinney location will be open.
On a positive note, the square will be getting a new cycle shop. There is a great new sign up for Cadence Cyclery and a sign in the window says that they will be opening some time in July.
I stopped by where the new gourmet kitchen ware place is going to be opening between The Sample Shop and Mom & POPcorn Candy Company but they still just have the plain brown paper in the window. All I know is that they are coming from Iowa where they already have a successful business and are hoping to be open by (or sometime in) August.
The storefront I’ve commented on that used to be Doll Haven, between Special Things and Tom Lavy Stonewood Creations has ambitious work being done on their facade and front windows. Everything is still in the “stud” stage so not photo-worthy yet but their updated permit says “Jewelry Store”. I’ll keep checking by and keep everyone informed as I see something worth noting.
I’ve been bitten by the “antique” bug and I’ve been making the rounds recently. I found this neat antique road flare over at The Bear Market next door to Mom & POPcorn Candy Company.
Did anyone else see the flying Geico ad last weekend? It was so windy and the banner was so big, the little plane pulling it looked like it could barely keep up.
If anyone has any additional info on the three new stores coming to downtown (or any others that I might have missed), please leave a comment and let others know too!
Until next time,
