Spring events coming up “On [and around] The Square”

I couldn’t ask for a better moment to write this post. A glass of wine, the rain tapping on the roof, my kids in bed and the thought of Spring at our door.
I think it’s time to recap all the wonderful events that are coming up in April-May, they will not be all but I will update you as they come to my attention and if I am forgetting anything please feel free to comment or email me at onthesquareblog@gmail.com
BEATLEMANIA64
This weekend is a good one. And being the wife of a Brit who believes the Beatles invented music, you can only imagine what I felt when I realized we won’t be able to attend this cool event because my baby sitter is out of town.
Last month marked the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ first American TV performance on “The Ed Sullivan Show” so we are going back in time with Beatlemania64, a Tribute to The Beatles presented by the McKinney Performing Arts Center (MPAC) on Saturday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m
General admission tickets are $22 and available for purchase online at mckinneyperformingartscenter.org, at MPAC, 111 N. Tennessee St. or by calling 214-544-4630.
CLASSIC ON THE SQUARE CAR SHOW
The last Saturday of each month McKinney Main Street proudly welcomes local classic car and truck enthusiast group, The Morning Maniacs to Historic Downtown McKinney. The Morning Maniacs will host “Classics on the Square Car Show” the last Saturday of each month from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
FARMERS MARKET
Chestnut Square plays a big role in the Spring, we have the fabulous Farmer Market coming back on a weekly appointment on April 5th.
Introducing new vendors and events, this season’s Farmer Market is going to be just fantastic! These are just a few reason why you shouldn’t miss it:
Brazilian Truffles by Brigatta Sweets
Pottery and Painting by local artist from the McKinney Art House
Landscape plants and garden accessories by Creative By Nature
Croissants, Focaccia, Scones and Gluten Free bread by Dragonfly Bakery
More info about the Farmer Market and Chestnut Square events can be found on the Chestnut Square website
YOGA at THE LAKE FOREST FARM
Lake Forest Farm is organizing the very first yoga event at their beautiful farm. It will take place each Tuesday, weather permitting. This Tuesday April 1st, Elaine Blasi will be visiting from California and will share a very calming, restorative-style class. Elaine received her yoga certification and has taught in Maui, where she calls home, until recently relocating to California for a new opportunity. Suggested donation ($10)
Lake Forest Farm is located 3355 Ryan Trail – McKinney, Texas 75071

SPRING PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS WITH McKINNEY FOTO

McKinney Foto offers Spring Mini Session throughout the season, you can have your pictures taken in a colorful field or in a more urban surrounding like Downtown McKinney. ART IN BLOOM
On Saturday, April 12, from 10 am to 6 pm local and regional artists come out to play in downtown McKinney. The purpose of the event is to experience art in all forms as creative fortes blossom throughout the Historic District. This all-day event is a perfect opportunity to experience the magic of McKinney’s historic shopping district during the spring season with art, music, food and more!
FARM TO TABLE DINNER
Lake Forest Farm organizes Spring Farm to Table Dinner at the Farm, a unique food experience, twenty five guests seated around one large, rustic wooden table in a very charming outdoor natural setting.
The next event will be on May 10th and you can sign up on their website to get updated with more info.
